Getting started
Create an account in the app or at app.prchaser.app with your email and a password. The same account works everywhere: anything you log on your phone shows up on the web, and the other way round.
- 14 days free. Every feature is unlocked for your first 14 days, with no card required. After that, subscribe to PR Chaser Pro to keep going (see PR Chaser Pro).
- Verify your email. We send a link when you sign up. It keeps your account secure and lets you reset your password. If it didn't arrive, use Resend email on the banner.
- Pick your units. Kilometres or miles, kilograms or pounds, and 12- or 24-hour time are in Settings.
- App The welcome tour offers three quick starts: set a goal, connect Apple Health, and browse training plans. You can replay it any time from Profile → Welcome tour.
Your dashboard
Home shows how your week is going at a glance: distance this week, your current streak (days in a row with a workout), your personal records, and your most recent activities. Tap or click any activity to open it.
- App Swipe the Personal Records cards sideways to see every record, including predicted race times and strength PRs. See all opens the full list.
- The upcoming workouts from your active plan appear on the dashboard and the calendar.
Logging a workout
App The + button
Tap + to start or log a workout. The sheet offers, in order:
- Today's plan: the workout scheduled for today from your active plan. Tap it to start it, with its targets loaded.
- Start from a saved workout: any workout from your library.
- Something else: choose the activity type and indoor or outdoor, then start. GPS types (run, walk, hike, ride) open a live session; the others open Quick Log.
Quick Log is for recording a workout after the fact: type, name, distance, duration and notes. For strength and CrossFit you can add sets.
Web Log Activity
Use the + button (or Log Activity) and pick the type. Runs have distance, duration (pace is worked out for you), heart rate, elevation, cadence and optional segments for interval splits. Strength and CrossFit have duration, heart rate and sets. Every type has effort (RPE 1–10) and notes.
If your watch also records the same run through Apple Health, PR Chaser merges the two into one activity. You keep your name and notes, and gain the watch's heart rate.
GPS runs & indoor sessions App
- Outdoor: wait for GPS ready, then tap Start. Your route, distance, pace and splits record as you go, even with the screen locked. Allow location access "Always" or "While using" when asked, so recording doesn't stop in your pocket.
- Indoor: for a treadmill or track, choose indoor. There's no GPS, so enter the distance when you finish.
- Pause and laps: pause any time; tap Lap to mark a split.
- Finish: tap Finish and it saves with an automatic name, which you can rename afterwards. Discard throws the session away.
- A new personal record gets a celebration when you finish.
Guided interval sessions App
Start a saved workout with intervals (for example "5×1 km") or today's planned session, and PR Chaser walks you through each step (warm-up, intervals, recovery, cool-down) with its target pace. Tap Start Interval / End Interval for each rep; your actual pace is compared with the target.
- Alerts: choose Haptic + sound, Haptic only or Off in Profile → Interval Session → Alerts. It's a setting on each device.
Strength & CrossFit sets
When the type is Strength or CrossFit, log what you lifted:
- Add an exercise: search by name (for example "bench" finds Barbell Bench Press).
- Enter weight and reps for the first set. Add set copies the previous set, so repeats are one tap.
- Mark warm-up sets with the warm-up box. They're shown as "W" and don't count towards PRs.
- Add more exercises the same way, in the order you did them.
Weights use your unit (kg or lb). A working set heavier than anything you've logged before for that exercise is a new strength PR. Your first-ever lift of an exercise doesn't count as a PR.
Your activities
- Activities lists everything you've logged or synced, newest first, with filters by type.
- Open an activity to see the route map, elevation, splits (your recorded laps and intervals, or automatic per-km/mile splits from GPS), heart rate, effort, notes and any strength sets.
- Edit fixes the name, date, time, type, distance, duration and more. App You can also trim the start or end of a GPS route, for example if you forgot to stop recording.
- Delete removes the activity for good. Web Open the activity and choose Delete (coming to the app soon).
Calendar & reminders
- The calendar shows the workouts scheduled by your active plan, next to the ones you've completed.
- Open a scheduled workout to start it, or mark it done or skipped. Logging a workout from today's plan marks it done automatically.
- Reminders: with notifications on, the app reminds you at 6 PM the evening before a scheduled workout. For a race goal, it also reminds you two weeks and one week out, as a nudge to taper.
- Calendar sync: subscribe to your workouts in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Web Settings → Calendar Sync; App Profile → Account → Calendar Sync. Copy the link and add it as a subscribed calendar. Keep the link private, and regenerate it if you shared it by mistake.
Training plans
- Built-in plans such as Couch to 5K are ready to use.
- Make your own: New Plan, then give it a name and length and add a workout for each training day. Each day can use a saved workout or just a name and notes.
- Activate a plan and choose a start date: its workouts go on your calendar from that day. Only one plan is active at a time. Activating another replaces the upcoming, not-yet-done workouts of the old one, but keeps anything you've completed.
- Deactivate to take a plan's upcoming workouts off the calendar.
Saved workouts
Workouts are reusable sessions, like "Tempo 3×2 km" or "Hill repeats", that you can start any time or use in plans.
- New Workout: choose the type and add steps (warm-up, interval, recovery, cool-down or steady). Each step can have a distance or time, a target pace or pace range, a heart-rate range, a repeat count and recovery between repeats.
- Start it from the workout, or from the + sheet on the app, for a guided session. When you log it, the activity keeps a link to the workout so you can compare planned and actual.
Goals & races
Set something to chase and PR Chaser tracks how close you are:
- Race: a race name and date, with an optional distance and goal time. Shows a countdown and sends taper reminders.
- Distance PR: a target time for a distance, such as 5K under 25:00.
- Strength PR: a target weight for an exercise.
- Distance: a weekly or monthly distance target.
- Workouts: a number of workouts per week or month.
Open a goal to see your progress and how it has trended over time.
Personal records
My PRs shows your fastest 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon, worked out from your logged runs, plus your heaviest working set for each exercise. For distances you haven't raced yet, PR Chaser predicts a time from your best efforts. Tap a record to open the run it came from.
Reports
- Running: weekly mileage, pace trend, heart-rate zones (last 90 days) and training load, meaning the last 7 days compared with your 28-day average. A big jump in training load is a sign to take it easier.
- Strength: weekly volume (total weight lifted) and strength PRs.
- Heatmap: every day you trained this year, and your streaks.
Apple Health & Health Connect App
- Connect: from the welcome tour or Profile → Health Sync (Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android), allow PR Chaser to read workouts, heart rate and routes. Workouts from your watch and other apps then sync in automatically, including GPS routes when available.
- Sync now pulls in anything new straight away. Force full resync (365 days) re-reads the last year, and Resync all history re-reads everything, including routes. Use these if something looks missing.
- Save activities to Apple Health (iPhone) writes the runs you record in PR Chaser back to Apple Health.
- A run recorded by both your watch and PR Chaser is merged into one activity, not duplicated.
- Not syncing? Check the permissions in the Health app (Sharing → Apps → PR Chaser) or in Health Connect, then tap Sync now.
Import & export
- Web Import your whole Apple Health history in one go: on iPhone, open the Health app → your profile → Export All Health Data, then upload the
export.zipon the Import page. Big exports take a few minutes. Importing the same file again updates what's there instead of creating duplicates. - Export everything you've logged: Web Settings → Your Data → Export all my data gives a ZIP with a spreadsheet of every activity and a GPX file for each GPS route. App Profile → Account → Export all my data (ZIP) creates the same ZIP and lets you share or save it.
PR Chaser Pro
- Free for 14 days, with every feature and no card needed. After that, PR Chaser Pro keeps everything unlocked: $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year.
- Subscribe from the upgrade screen. In the iPhone and Android apps you're billed by Apple or Google; on the web, checkout is handled by our reseller Paddle.
- Manage or cancel: Profile → PR Chaser Pro (app) or Settings → PR Chaser Pro → Manage or cancel subscription (web). Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- New phone or reinstalled? Use Restore purchases on the upgrade screen.
- Refunds: web purchases have a 30-day money-back guarantee; App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by Apple or Google. See the Refund Policy.
Settings & your account
App Tap your picture or initials (top right), then Profile & settings. Web Settings in the menu.
- Profile: name, photo, units (km/mi, kg/lb), time zone and 12/24-hour time.
- Appearance (web): light, dark or match your device.
- API keys (web): for connecting your own scripts or tools to your PR Chaser data. Each key has limited permissions and can be revoked.
- Sign out is at the bottom of Profile (app) or in the menu (web).
- Delete your account (Settings → Danger Zone): permanently removes your account and everything in it. It can't be undone. Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store, Google Play or web subscription, so cancel that first.
